Transport Services

Trains

Collingwood is located about 10 minutes from Flinders Street Station in central Melbourne and is served by the Epping and Hurstbridge train lines. Trains run from approximately 5am to midnight on Mondays to Saturdays, and 8am to midnight on Sundays.

The nearest manned train station is Clifton Hill, two stops north of Collingwood, where timetables are available and any questions can be answered.

Trams

The following tram routes serve Collingwood and nearby areas:

  • Route 109: Box Hill to Port Melbourne (via Victoria Street/Victoria Parade and city)
  • Route 112: West Preston to St Kilda (via Brunswick Street and city)
  • Route 24: North Balwyn to City (via Kew Junction and Victoria Street/Victoria Parade)
  • Route 30: North Balwyn to Docklands (via Kew Junction, Victoria Street/Victoria Parade and city)
  • Route 31: St Vincent’s Hospital to City
  • Route 86: Bundoora RMIT to Docklands (via LaTrobe University, Smith Street, Gertrude Street and city)
  • Route 96: East Brunswick to St Kilda Beach (via Nicholson Street and city)

The following bus routes serve Collingwood and nearby areas:

  • Route 200: City to Doncaster Shoppingtown (via Johnston Street, Kew Junction and Bulleen)
  • Route 201: City to Doncaster Shoppingtown (via Johnston Street, Eastern Freeway and Belmore Road)
  • Route 203: City to Doncaster Shoppingtown (via Johnston Street, Eastern Freeway and Bulleen)
  • Route 205: Melbourne University to Doncaster Shoppingtown (via Johnston Street, Kew Junction and Bulleen)
  • Route 207: City to Donvale (via Johnston Street, Kew Junction and Doncaster Shoppingtown)
  • Route 246: Elsternwick to LaTrobe University (via Hoddle Street and Clifton Hill)

  • Route 305: City to Deep Creek (via Victoria Parade, Hoddle Street, Eastern Freeway and Doncaster Shoppingtown)
  • Route 306: City to North Ringwood (via Victoria Parade, Hoddle Street and Eastern Freeway)
  • Route 307: City to Ringwood (via Victoria Parade, Hoddle Street, Eastern Freeway and Donvale)
  • Route 308: City to Deep Creek (via Victoria Parade, Hoddle Street and Eastern Freeway)

  • Route 402: Footscray to East Melbourne (via Victoria Parade, Rathdowne Street, Melbourne University and Kensington Road)
  • Route 504: Clifton Hill to Moonee Ponds (via East Brunswick)
  • Route 546: Heidelberg to Melbourne University and Queen Victoria Market (via Clifton Hill Station, Hoddle Street and North Terrace)
  • Route 684: City to Eildon (via Hoddle Street, Eastern Freeway and Lilydale)

Cost

Collingwood is located in Zone 1. From January 1, 2009, a daily Zone 1 ticket for train, tram and bus travel costs $6.80 ($3.70 concession). Two hour tickets cost $3.70 ($2.30 concession), weekly tickets cost $29.40 ($14.70 concession) and monthly tickets cost $109.60 ($54.80 concession). Seniors Card holders can purchase a daily ticket for $3.40 or a pack of five for $16.50.

If travelling north on the train or to outer suburbs on the bus, you may require a more expensive Zone 1+2 ticket.

Taxis

Silver Top Taxis are based in Collingwood. Cal 131 008 – available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Koorie Stories and Songs

elebrate Reconciliation week at the Fitzroy Library (128 Moor Street) with a night of Koorie stories and songs.

Aboriginal singer-songwriters will perform amongst the books in this free event that will celebrate music, story and the spirit of reconciliation.

This free event will take place on Wednesday 30 May from 6.30pm-8pm.

Showcasing future voices to watch in the arena of political writing and commentary, our five panellists have diverse interests and experience, and are ready to engage in public debate on the issues of the day.

This free event will take place on Tuesday 29 May from 7.30pm – 8.30pm.
