Job Purpose
To manage, further develop and evaluate The Torch Project community engagement process. The Community Development Manager works closely with the artistic and management teams of The Torch Project and identified social agencies to maximise the engagement of communities in cultural activity and ensure projects respond to community determined need. The Community Development Manager builds and maintains relationships with key organisational and individual community representatives to provide support for achieving sustainable social change.
While much of the work is office based (housed at 16/288 Brunswick St, Fitzroy), project work can require significant travel & activity in diverse community locations. Project work in community can be physically demanding and the incumbent must be able to accommodate this. Formal and informal support structures are available.
Conditions of Employment
This is a fulltime position. The salary range is $42 000 – $47 000 + four weeks annual leave (leave loading 17.5%) and 9% superannuation. There will be a three month probationary period.
