Jesuit Social Services seeks a mature, enthusiastic and experienced Community Development Worker for our community development program on the public housing estates in the City of Yarra.
This position is to build a sense of community across the diverse groups living on the estate by developing the skills and capacity of residents to actively participate in their community and take responsibility for its management.
They are looking for the applicants with a proven commitment of working collaboratively with people from diverse cultural backgrounds.
The requirements for this position are: -
Experience and understanding of community development principles and approaches and Knowledge of supporting and resourcing volunteers in a community context would be advantageous.
Tertiary qualifications in Community Development, Social Work or the Social Sciences, and experience in community development is essential.
Salary commensurate with SACS CD II(b) $47k +
