A variety of programs are running this year to help both primary and secondary students with their schooling. Programs include HIPPY, homework clubs and an after-school computer and IT club.

The Atherton Gardens Learning and IT Hub is a great place for resident students to study and do homework. Open from Tuesday to Friday 11am - 5.00pm come along to make use of free computer and internet access as well as support from the Infoxchange IT help desk. Call (03) 9415 6170 for more information.

For younger children the Brotherhood of St Laurence's HIPPY program is an excellent home based program where parents work with other parents to read with their pre-school age children. Just twenty minutes a day will help your child so much when they start kindergarten and school. Visit the HIPPY website at www.hippyaustralia.org.au/ for more information or call the Brotherhood of St Laurence office on (03) 9415 8399

Primary School students are invited to come along to a homework club located at the Atherton Gardens' Community Hall 140 Brunswick Street Fitzroy. Each Wednesday afternoon from 3.30pm to 5.30pm come along for support and encouragement. Call Rosa on 0403 699 285 or Karyn on 0447 223 909 if you would like to get involved.

An After-school Computer and IT Club is held from Monday to Thursday between 3.30pm and 5.30pm at the Fitzroy Learning Network 198 Napier Street Fitzroy. Suitable for both younger children and teenagers contact the FLN on (03) 9417 2897 for further details. Volunteers who want to help build a stronger community are encouraged to get involved in all programs at the Fitzroy Learning Network. www.fitzroylearningnetwork.org.au/

For Secondary School students wanting a helpful and encouraging atmosphere to study in come down to the Secondary School Homework club held at the Fitzroy Library from Monday to Thursday 4.00pm - 5.30pm. 128 Moor Street Fitzroy.
Call (03) 9201 1545 for details.

Get off to a good start for your school day at the Breakfast Club 7.30am - 8.30am each weekday at the Community Centre 140 Brunswick Street.

Students are also invited to join the Music Club which meets Monday, Tuesday and Thursday afternoons at the Community Centre 3.30 - 5.00pm.

There's lots on for students at Atherton Gardens so get involved and enjoy the support of your community.
