Reach for the Clouds
eACE electronic Atherton Community Enterprise has been developed
through a project called 'Reach for the Clouds'. This project
is coordinated by Infoxchange Australia in partnership with the
Department of Human Services, the City of Yarra and many community
organisations including Brotherhood of St Laurence, Outreach Victoria
and Jesuit Social Services. It has primarily been funded through
the Community Support Fund. You can find more information about
the Community Support Fund here: www.dvc.vic.gov.au/csf.htm
The project seeks to provide all residents with free access to
a PC in your own home, establish a local community computer network
(Intranet), provide access to Internet communications (Internet),
provide training in computer use, enable community management
of the network and to establish social enterprise opportunities.
